Will John Boehner and Eric Cantor Jim DeMint and Mitch McConnell and the National Republican Party all fall victim to having been so desperate  for a win in the 2010 Congressional Election to obtain a Republican majority in the House of Representatives.

So much so that they even stooped in the gutter and turned to a group made up primarily of avowed racist and bigots masquerading as "Fiscal Conservatives"for the votes that propelled them to victory in 2010.

Since then we have seen that the Tea Party are to put it mildly proving to be totally unmanageable in the House of Representatives and a real thorn in the side of John Boehner.

In my mind the million dollar question is will John Boehner end up being Capt. Ahab and the Tea Party in their blind hatred of President Obama with their overwhelming need and stated goal of "Taking Their Country Back" prove to be Moby Dick.

More importantly will America prove to be the crew whose lives and well being was ruthlessly sacrificed in the fight between Ahab and the White Whale.

Fed up with Republicans

Each and every day you can see another dent being made in the fragile cohesiveness that has held the diverse groups that make up the Republican Party together.

I don't know about the Moby part, but, Boehner, Cantor, Ryan, McConnell, Kyl and DeMint, as well as many other of their Teabags party all fit the Dick part. The is obviously no Captain Ahab to sail their ship, so it is merely floundering around desperately trying to stay afloat and off the jagged rocks that can sink and destroy them. Even if Boehner is ousted as Speaker, he gets a extremely healthy pension and will live like a Royal Sultan for the rest of his life, leave the rest of the GOPTeaBags to fight the battles for him. He does not care a pittance what happens to America and it is people as long as it does not interfere with him generous income, pension, golf games, his ability to buy cigarettes, and his orange tanning bed.

The GOP party has already sold their soul, individually, and collectively, to the Tea Party Borgs. In return, they have no choice but to do as they have been reprogrammed to do or be replaced by one that will mindlessly follow commands without question.

They are....The Lost Dutchman.

This article is long on rhetoric an hate speech and short on facts

turned to a group made up primarily of avowed racist and bigots

Which of the elected officials or prominent members of the Teas Party are avowed racists and bigots? A source where one or more of them state that they are racists or empiricial proof of their racism and bigotry other than your perceptions please.

Might be time for a little introspection on the thought of bigotry and racism, as your broad stereotyping of a huge group of people that you cannot possibly know seems like bigotry to me

You have strong opinions on the issues and should consider an article on the issues rather than simply spewing hate IMHO.

    Take care

    Hi Robert

I knew you would turn up soon.

My opinion is that the Tea Party is made up mostly of racist and bigots

Your opinion is that they are freedom loving conservatives that are genuinely concerned about the national debt of America.

In the entire 8 years of Bush not a single Tea Party formed, and we had the worse debt in the history of the country

In the very 1st month of President Obama the Tea Parties formed from coast to coast and he hadn't spent a single solitary dime or added a penny to the debt.

So Robert in Ohio, you give me your reason that justifies their antagonism to this President other than the race and color of his skin.

The party of Lincoln AND Dwight David Eisenhower - who gave us a space program, spy satellites (so that we actually could verify) and interstate highways! Otherwise, I agree with you completely. George Herbert Walker Bush (who labeled "supply-side" [or trickle-down] voodoo economics) was the last true Republican. He even had the guts to raise taxes when the enormous deficits run by his predecessor (what was that guy's name?) were stressing the economy. . .

I admire President Obama as a person that has made extraordinary achievements in his life in academia and politics, I just do not agree with all of his policies or agenda

I think there are racists in the Tea Party and I also think there are racists in the Democratic Party and in all the other parties as well, but not all the Tea Party (as you try to assert) are racists anymore than all Democrats are racists.

Some members of the Tea PArty probably dislike the president because he is black, but your assertion that all members of the Te Party are racist and that is the only reason they oppose the president us ridiculous and says more about your prejudice than theirs.

Please give me a break I explained that the entire stated reason for the Tea Party existence is a lie.

You know it, I know it and America knows it, and only the people who have blinders on choose to ignore the reality of the racism in the Tea Party.

Yes, that's the guy. . . The Teavangelist's patron saint of balanced budgets - who never actually balanced anything and who famously agreed to raise taxes in 1982, 1983, and 1986 after drastically cutting federal aid for social programs to states!

Since Obama is the Commander in Chief, which makes him the captain of the ship, perhaps Fed up should have picked a better analogy.

Its to Bad "Renard" doesn't seem to be around anymore. You would have loved his articles like "All Republicans are Racist", "Tea partiers are bigots", etc. Fed up and Renard could have had a contest to see who can use the race card and unsubstantiated stereotyping more.

Until now, that is. A new survey by the University of Washington Institute for the Study of Ethnicity, Race & Sexuality offers fresh insight into the racial attitudes of Tea Party sympathizers. "The data suggests that people who are Tea Party supporters have a higher probability"—25 percent, to be exact—"of being racially resentful than those who are not Tea Party supporters," says Christopher Parker, who directed the study. "The Tea Party is not just about politics and size of government. The data suggests it may also be about race."

    re #3.5

The fact that you repeat your misinformation over and over does not make it true!!

Your view of racism in American is narrow minded and mis-informed and when you use race as the counter to any opposition to the president you display a lack of knowledge of the issues and a distorted view of the reality of the world we live in.

More importantly, it diminishes the focus and outrage on actions and commentary that is truly racially motivated so you are doing a disservice to both sides of the aisle with your stereotyping and ranting

      Robert

That is a standard Republican talking point

      Blah,blah,blah,

What it really means is that this type of racist behavior doesn't really rise to the level that Republicans take seriously.

In other words what you are really saying is that people should accept this type of racism, but hold their anger for the really bad acts of racism like the James Byrd killing.

Yours are the talking points, why is that not apparent to you

I am not saying that people should accept any form or amount of racism and you should not try to tell me what I am saying until you figure out what you are trying say.

I am saying hat it is a sign of ignorance to broadly paint a large group of people (that you have no direct knowledge of) as being racist or anything else.

You repeat the Liberal talking points (in varied forms) that all that oppose Obama do so for reasons of race hatred and all that does is paint you as ill-informed and bigoted against a group of people

Individuals are racists and to say that a huge group of Republicans are racists is as ill-informed and ignorant as saying all minorities are lazy and shiftless.

It is wrong conclusion and you are wrong in your assertions.

      Blah,blah,blah

These three words are descriptive of the "points" you are making on multiple threads of late, the same non reality message over and over

In the old days (pre-Pelosi), he might have gotten away with an unproductive, super-partisan, mistake-prone term notable for embarrassing internecine warfare in his caucus, a failed attempt to reanimate culture wars, flagrant attacks on womens' reproductive health, clumsy efforts to deregulate everything from food to mining, reckless funding cuts to education and - of course - budget cuts designed to emasculate government and cripple social programs. But in contrast to Nancy's leadership and the remarkable progress on numerous issues (in the face of endless filibusters in the Senate), his speakership will live on in the annals of inept governance. . .

        And rightly so. . .

Gov. Perry’s flippant response, at the CNN Republican Debate, that he accepted a $5000 donation from Merck, for manufacture of the HPV vaccine, is a shameless example of his unscrupulous political gamesmanship. Perry was clearly taken by surprise when Rep. Michelle Bachman suggested his executive order mandating the HPV injections was “crony capitalism,” at its worst.

Perry’s calculating indifference to Bachman’s accusation concealed his evasion: he is playing “pay to play” politics in Texas. His involvement with Merck actually exceeded $5000. With his hesitant, halting, and carefully worded reply, Perry entertained speculation he sold his influence to Merck. Instead of immediately reiterating, to the debate audience, his executive order was a mistake, he gave an unflinching avowal that he would grant a political favor if the campaign donation exceeded $5000.

Perry’s intended punchline was his feigned effrontery that he would not sell his influence for a meager--$5000--sum. What he apparently forgot is that as governor, he accepted $28,500 from Merck. And while he was head of the National Governor’s Association, Merck donated $377,500 to the Association, which in turn made a donation to Perry’s reelection campaign (“HPV vaccine, Merck, and Rick Perry’s money,” www.cnn.com).

What made the exchange truly surreal was his dismissal of a $5000 donation as a pittance of the $30 million he has collected in political contributions, as if this “small amount” has no significance. A $5000 donation is chump change for this prodigious fund raiser.

Maybe, the Gov. choked on these facts while under debate pressure? Never mind that Perry’s former chief of staff, Mike Toomey, was a Merck lobbyist at the time of Perry’s “indiscretion.” How contemptuous is this?

Just curious an employer is needing to fill a position. He is down to two people under consideration. He poses a question to the two individuals , what do you do in your spare time ? One replies I blog that I hate Republicans and the other says I volunteer for my church. Who do you think will get the job ?

Not republicans, the Tea Party. Right now, nobody is getting a job.

If you say they are the same thing, then you are right: this year I hate the republicans; but I wouldn't give the job to either based on your criteria.
