Fed up with Republicans

Nothing has changed for the better in America and nothing will as long as these Republicans have their way.

One lousy excuse after another .. if it isn't reducing taxes for the filthy rich.. it is health care.. they want to put the elderly out in the streets.. Why aren't they for jobs? Or, for investigating the fraud and heavy consequences to those who commit fraud.. of course that would mean they'd have someone investigating them. Schmucks.

And this is new because...? Haven't they been doing this since 2009? I mean really, what's different about this threat?

Well gotta say that the GOP is sure good at taking pledges. The question is do they honor oaths, such as the one to the constitution, which includes the General Welfare Clause which grants congress power to raise taxes for the General Welfare.

My question is do they support private pledges over their oath to office?

Why even ask, they support private campaign donors over the general public every day.

You know what? Let 'em. They've threatened government shutdowns three times this year already and the last one finally got the U.S. credit downgraded. They've blocked forward movement. They've played with all our lives.

Threatening the entire American citizenry with not letting legislation go forward?

They do this and they'll lose probably every single election in 2012. Boot their happy a$$es right out of Congress, off the airwaves, and out of lobbying permanently. Good riddance.

They've obstructed, lied, filibustered, walked out of negotiations, twisted the story, frothed up their base and they need to go. Today is not soon enough.

And the Dems had better bring back the tax brackets for the wealthy from at least the Clinton era.

Obama already said he is not going to sign any more Bush tax cuts or extend them.

The GOP is sitting down on the job. In any other environment, that would be cause for dismissal.

If I were Obama I would ask Harry Reid to introduce a bill every day to promote jobs, fix the infrastructure, prevent foreclosures, etc. The Republicans would then block each bill and in the evening the White House could issue a public statement that would say, "Today the Republicans in the Senate blocked a Democratic bill that would have (created jobs by___, fixed the infrastructure by___, prevented foreclosures by___, etc.) because they have pledged to block every bill until the Senate agrees to extend the Bush tax breaks for millionaires and billionaires. Congress has done nothing in the last__days because the Republicans are blocking every bill until the tax breaks for the rich are extended."

After Tuesday's election you would think that these bozos had gotten the message that people are fed up with them, but apparently they have not. Let them keep digging. I'd like to see the hole they're in get a lot deeper by Nov. 2012.

Brilliant! After a few days, re-introduce one of their minor bills that was defeated and let them vote it down, they would then be in the position of voting against their own bill. What a campaign ad that would make. Even if they do decide to pass it, they will then expose themselves as being unable to stand up to even the priciple of the matter as well as taking nothing but self-interest to heart.

Say, republicans and teabaggers?

Don't pay any attention to the people that say you should be "working on jobs" or "helping America" or "solving America's problems." You just keep on doing what you've been doing: refusing to cooperate or compromise with Democrats or the president.

Also, keep working to make President Obama a one-term president.

Engage in nothing else except trivial and nonessential matters.

America will love you and vote for all of you.

Trust me, this plan will work for you.

Yes...It's been a whole week since you've voted to outlaw abortion - you guys are shirking your duty. I know it is tough only having to show up 4 days a week, 3 weeks a month, but you guys need to stay focused - where are those investigations on Obama's birth certificate you said you'd mount??

They only actually work 109 days a year that is 3 months and 16 days.

to say Nay or Aye

the job is so much more than that. You may one day have to innaugurate something like a bridge if you're a Democrat or a tax-free corporate jet if you're a Republican.

Part of the Republicans' argument for cutting teachers' salaries is that they're only in the classroom
6 hours a day, 9 months a year.

If we could pay Congressional representatives the federal minimum wage of $7.25/hr for 8 hrs/day (that's being charitable), 109 days/yr, they'd make $6,322 a year.

I'll bet that would affect a whole lot of legislation that aims to cut benefits for the poor.

For the money they make.. they should be in their seats.. working.. at least 9 months themselves.. before they enter the Senate or the House.. they swipe their I.D. badge that is coded with a guard standing at the entrance to each to make sure.. or sign in with the guard and show their I.D. and they get paid hourly.. two 15 minute breaks they get paid for .. and 1/2 hour for lunch they do not. .. and they do not get paid for the 3 months they are not working.

As for teacher's pay.. it all depends on what part of the country / state one is teaching in... depends on the cost of living in a specific state... The cost of living in Massachusetts is much higher than say Arkansas / Tennessee..

Agreed about the teacher's pay. They also grade papers, create lesson plans and attend training workshops after hours, outside of the classroom. I was just using the public employee-hating Republicans' (aren't they public employees, too?) logic against them.

You mean the Private Companies the upper 1% .. who paid via "Influence Peddling".. which at any other time would be a federal offense and punishment of a prison sentence.

extending the Bush-era tax cuts is resolved

When will the American population wake up, that's part of the problem that got us in the mess we're in. As a result, millions have lost their jobs, their homes and some have ended homeless, while only a select few made millions if not billions in profits at the expense of the American population. Things will only get worse, if the voters of this country put the wrong party in as the majority in both the House and Senate, and there is a change in whom the President of the United State will be.

Members of Congress were elected by the people of this country, for the people. What is our Government doing for the people, since it's their policies that got us in this mess. Greed, selfishness is coming out, loud and clear. Instead of helping the people the people, they're hurting the American people in jobs, and financially.
