Judson Phillips, founder of Tea Party Nation, said the idea of free rides for welfare recipients won’t sit well with party conservatives who already view Romney with a jaundiced eye.

“It sounds like a program that President Obama would come up with,” Phillips said. “Everything that Mitt Romney has done as governor shows where his head and where his ideology is. He is trying to tell Republicans that he is conservative, and he’s just not being truthful.”
